Schedule & Results, Best Western The Parlour Bantam HL, 2012-2013, A (Stratford Aces Girls Hockey)

The Stratford Aces Bantam HL team sponsored by Best Western / The Parlor recently competed in the Jason Cripps Tournament in Kitchener and went 1-1-1. The opening game of the tournament the Aces lost 2-1 to league leaders, the Waterloo Ravens #1 team. Scoring for Stratford in the third was Brooke DeYoung with an end to end rush. Defenseman Jillian Andress playing forward earned an assist on the play. Game two of the tournament the Aces played with the same tenacity as the first game and were rewarded with a win over the Ayr Rockets. In the back and forth game, the game was scoreless after 2 periods. With a hard wrist shot from the slot, Madissen Daum broke the stalemate with 2:11 left in the game unassisted. Superb goaltending with key saves throughout the game earned Brittany Johnston the shutout. In the third game the Aces tied the Waterloo Ravens # 2 team 1-1. Again Stratford found themselves tied at 0 after 2 periods. Waterloo scored 8:39 into the third to go ahead, but the Aces again showed the determination that they played with all weekend and were rewarded 90 seconds later when Katie Gansevles scored with Daum and Andress earning assists. The line of Emily Stephan, Hannah Nemeth and Nicole McIntosh and defensemen Natalie Dale, Brianna Patterson, Janelle Gras worked and played hard all weekend.
