Turner Plumbing U15 (Bantam) A - Festival Cup Challenge Tournament!
Submitted By Jason Cook on Sunday, November 21, 2021
In the first tournament of their season, the U15A Aces showed grit and determination.

They opened the tournament Friday morning against Scarborough Sharks with a 2-1 win. Scoring for the Aces were McKenzie P. and Skylar F.  Next up was Toronto Leaside for the evening game.  The Aces skated relentlessly, playing their best third period so far this season, wearing out the Leaside squad. Kara R., Skylar F. and McKenzie P. were the goal scorers in this 3-1 victory. Saturday's action matched the Aces against South Huron Sabres. Strong goaltending prevented much scoring and the end result was a 1-1 tie with the lone goal scored by Skylar F.  The final game in the round robin was against Hamilton Hawks. The Aces continued their consistent strong play, outscoring them 2-0, with goals from McKenzie P. and Olivia V.

The semi-final match saw the Aces meeting the London Devilettes. The Aces skated hard, putting on lots of pressure and outshooting the strong London team, but struggled to put the puck in the net.  After a sneaky wrap around goal from the Devilettes, the Aces played catch up but fell short in a 1-0 loss ending their tournament play.

The Festival Cup Challenge allowed the girls opportunities to be victorious in team building and forging deeper friendships and comraderie, and the coaching staff provided many additional privileges and special memories for the team which further heightened their tournament experience.  Many thanks to the coaches, parents, photographers and sponsors.
