Ace of Heart Award
The Ace of Hearts is an award that the organization looks to give out every year to an individual(s) that make a different within the organization. Throughout the year, there are always people that are willing to step up and ensure that the individual Aces are placed in the best position to succeed as players, teammates, and individuals. There are many volunteers that are a part of each team to ensure our players have the best coaching, care, and are ready to go for each puck drop. This year in particular was a special one,

as we had two ladies that went above and beyond to provide their leadership and time to the Aces organization. These ladies were an essential piece to each individual team as they were at every practice, including the early morning ones, they were on the bench to provide the girls with their knowledge and past experiences, and they were in the dressing room so the players had someone to look up to and see their own future with hockey.

For the coaches these two individuals were essential in planning practices, off ice training, and they were able to provide a different perspective to how the game is approached and how they could lend their knowledge on how the game can be played. They spent countless hours getting to know the players and being their "go too" for advice, for questions, and just to see how their day went. This role within a hockey team is insurmountable when building a team that is focused and working towards the team goals that were set out on day one.

During this time the two ladies maintained their jobs, their education, and also playing for the Aces senior team. Both girls were a part of the organization for a number of years as players and we are extremely happy to see them transition into their new roles for the future of the organization. It gives us a huge amount of pride to see their success and we hope to have them around for a many number of years.

The 2019/2020 Ace of Hearts award goes to Madison Smith (Humphrey Fleet Service Atom A) and Brooklyn Rau (Sommers Generator Systems PeeWee AA).

Madi and Brook, thank you for your dedication to these teams and the individual girls. You have set the bar very high and we can't thank you enough for your commitment. The coaching staff, the players, and the organization would like to congratulate you both on an amazing year.
