Aces Online Banquet Day 11
Egg Farmers of Ontario Midget B's
While the success of many seasons is determined by wins and losses, the coaching staff of this year’s Midget B team prefer to measure our season by the number of friendships and memories created... and using this metric, our team had a hugely successful season. We weren’t certain if we were even going to have a team when tryouts were taking place, but players from 6 different organizations came together to create our team. Once we got
Once we got on the ice, we realized there would be work to do to bring the varied experiences of our players together to create a common path and a common vision going forward. This year’s team put forward excellent effort at every practice and every game. We found ourselves in one of the toughest loops in the Province, but competed every game, and earned the respect of opposing teams and coaches. In tournament play, we earned a number of victories, and again, showed other teams that we would not be an easy test for them. Looking back on our season, our players showed tremendous growth, perseverance, teamwork and character. With several of our players heading away to school next year to start a new chapter, it is these characteristics that will serve them far better than a few extra wins in our season. This fantastic group of players have shown that they can not only handle some adversity, but in fact, they can thrive in this environment. Thanks to all of our players for a great season, and thanks to the parents and members of our coaching staff who supported everyone along the way. Despite our overall record, when we hear several players say that this was their “best season ever”, we’re all winners.
