Aces Online Banquet Day 10
Cooper Standard Bantam A
The Cooper Standard Bantam A Aces started strong and ended much the same way! The girls enjoyed a gold medal in Markham, a second round Lower Lakes run, eliminating Saugeen and many one goal games throughout their season! Between dressing room conversations, tournaments away, collecting products for a woman’s shelter, all-night parties at the Everetts and a Christmas party at the Bach’s these girls formed friendships

formed friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime!

The second year girls were leaders all year long! Neave and Meg S. were solid back on defense and more than once, used their incredible soccer skills to keep the puck out of our end! Megan B. never backed down and defended her goalie time and time again! Up front Meg F. never ceased to amaze us with her persistence and work ethic, Eve used her great moves to score many goals this year and Anna used her speed to chase down pucks every game! Thank you, girls! All the best next year in Midget!

The 2006 defense corp was made up of Dayna, who consistently chased down opposing players long before they reached our goalie along with Olivia and Shauna, who both had wicked shots from the point and never once backed down in a corner!

Our mighty first year forward list includes Haddie, who could out skate any player on the ice, Ella who back checked all day long, stopping player after player, Sadie, who used her sweet hands to get to the net on more than one occasion, Ashley, with her super long reach could always get to the puck before her opponent, Ashlyn, who was feisty around the net and scored many awesome “garbage” goals and Hailey, who could put that puck in the top corner when needed! Our two goalies, Mia and Carly stood on their heads, did the splits, flashed some leather and used their face masks to stop shot after shot and kept us in many games!

Our bench staff was supportive, kind and always encouraging! From Joe’s inspirational emails, to Bud and Jeremy’s calm demeanours and our group of trainers, Corry, Jess, Amanda and Beth, who looked after every 13/14 year old girl problem in the book!! The parents and the girls appreciate the time, the commitment and all the laughs! Thanks again!

Despite the fact that this season ended abruptly and we never truly got to say our goodbyes, we will always look back and remember what a great group of girls they were and how much we loved watching them play!
