Aces Online Awards Banquet Day 1
Submitted By Jan Ballantyne on Monday, March 30, 2020
Well, since we can't get together in person we still wanted to be able to honour all of our teams and award winners. Every day we will be highlighting one team and announcing that teams award winners.
So for today - Romeo Optometry Novice Red team
The Novice Red Romeo Optometry Aces embraced this year of change with positivity, enthusiasm and once they figured it out, lots of goals. The girls took to the ice in early September with excitement and uncertainty about the year to come. With varying

backgrounds and levels of experience the girls quickly came together to form what would be an epic Aces team. With practices focusing on puck touches and skating, games quickly became fast paced goal scoring clinics for each and every girl on the team. Uncertainty quickly changed to smile, laughter and determination when the girls came to the rink. The Aces were ready when their half-ice games changed to full ice in January. This new challenge taught the girls about implementing their learned skills in new ways and coming together as a team. The girls shared feelings of excitement for games they won and learned the power of support and perseverance when the score board was not in their favour.

The Aces participated in three tournaments this season with their success growing in each one. The highlight tournament was at the Brampton Friendship Cup in Vaughan. Games were played, swims were swam and fun was radiating through it all. Overall this was a year for the love of the game! Go Aces.
The Novice Red team awards go to:

Best Sport Award: Jovie Venchenko
Most Improved: Annie Thompson
Most Defensive Player: Gracie Neumeister
Most Offensive Player: Grace Elliott
Aces of the Team: Sydney Nelemans
