Peewee A Aces Win LLFHL Western Division Title
Dunny’s Source for Sports Peewee A Aces captured the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Western Division Title on the Weekend by defeating the Kitchener Lady Rangers. Game 1 of the four point series took place on Tuesday at the Stratford Rotary Complex. Stratford and Kitchener played two scoreless periods, with Stratford finally taking the lead in the third on a powerplay goal by Jocelyn Ballantyne from Kelsey Dixon and Carly Wouters. That goal would stand for the 1-0 final with Creasyn Jordan recording the shutout.

Game 2 took place Thursday night in Kitchener at the Activa Sportsplex. Both teams played another strong close checking game with Kitchener tying the series 2 points with a 1-0 win. Rylee Kaufman played a strong game in goal for Stratford.

Game 3 was on Saturday at the Allman arena. After a scoreless first period Kitchener jumped out to an 1-0 lead in the second period on a power play goal. Kelsey Dixon responded less than three minutes later with a laser from the high slot over the glove of the Kitchener goalie, Megan Rauser and Anna Mohr drew the assists.

Three minutes into the third period Jocelyn Ballantyne would score the eventual game winner on a nice outside move around the Kitchener defense and a top shelf shot on a feed from Laura Chapman. Ballantyne added an insurance marker two minutes later from Carly Wouters. Courtney Simpson would ice the game late in the third period on a nice shot beating the Kitchener goalie.
