The Stratford Golf & Country Club hosted the 18A Aces parent player meeting on Thursday, May 22nd. The meeting was to review expectations for the year, speak to culture and leadership and formally introduce the entire 18A team and staff.
The evening began with an inspiring culture and leadership message from Lexi Templeman. Lexi shared valuable insights from her experiences with high-level teams, including the 2021 NCAA D1 National Championship team at Ohio State University. Her message emphasized the importance of always striving to be your best self, especially when with the team, and focusing on how individual efforts can contribute to the players around you. She highlighted that when everyone prioritizes the team and their teammates, a strong sense of belonging is fostered.
We were also fortunate to hear from from Katie Antonio, the captain of the 24/25 team, who shared her experiences with culture and leadership. Katie defined a leader as someone who guides and motivates others toward a common goal, a role she fulfilled exceptionally well as team captain last year. In her final act as captain, Katie had the pleasure of introducing the new captain, Kara Rolph, who was also the assistant captain for the 24/25 season. Katie spoke highly of Kara's strong work ethic, focus, and consistently positive attitude both on and off the ice.
It was truly a fantastic way to introduce the team and start our summer break.
Congratulations to Kara Rolph on being named team captain for the 25/26 season. We are all looking forward to seeing the team culture flourish under your leadership.
