Novice B's Slide Giving up Three Straight
Three Tough Losses Will Test Ace Resolve in Their Divisional Race Midway Through the Regular Season

The Rod Smith Financial Novice B Aces faced three division rivals with three tough losses and find themselves right in the middle of the competitive LLFHL Central West division.

The Aces traveled to South Huron Wednesday November 28 to meet their local foe for the second time in the regular season. The Sabre barn in the heart of Stephen township, somewhere in the southern end of Huron county is always a cold place with an unrelenting team of girls destined to prove their mettle to anyone who underestimates them. The game proved a grueling battle as it always has been with South Huron ekeing it out against the Aces in a 1-0 nail biter.

The Aces hosted the London Devillettes for the first time Friday evening at the Molson arena. The Devillettes, with a slow start to the season had played 3 fewer games with anyone else in the division, but they are rising quickly in the Central West. Linley Porter scored the lone Ace goal in the 3-1 defeat at home.

In their final game of the week the Aces hosted the formidable Waterloo Ravens Sunday morning at the RBC. The Smith Aces were tasked with holding down the ravens large framed forwards, putting their bodies and sticks in front of the attackers to slow their assault on the Ace net where the Ace star Flanny stood strong as a last stand to the Raven offense. The Ravens jumped to an early 1-0 lead but the Ace line of Cameron, Shultz and Gianna Nickel  answered quickly as Chloe Shultz banged in her third goal of the season at the doorstep to tie it up 1-1. The Ravens bounced back and lifted another past the Ace netminder but a streaking Jule Cameron answered that call with a finely placed wrister evening things up yet again. The Ravens pressure continued on the Aces pulling ahead again in the third period.  Late in the third period Ace pressure to tie things up again was bolstered with an extra attacker with the Ace netminder pulled.  The girls pushed hard at the Raven net producing the desired chances but they could not get one into the Raven net.  With a loss of possession to the Ravens the Ravens made no mistake with the puck and found the empty Ace net and providing the death knell and a 4-2 loss, the third straight for the girls.

The girls have slid to 4th in the division 2 points behind the Sabres and 5 points behind the league leading Woolwich Wild. With games in hand in the division the girls find a break in the schedule for netminder Flanny to get some sunshine and salt water therapy before traveling to meet the Kitchener Lady Rangers December 16.
