Taylor Fluid Systems – Atom B Aces Tournament Game 1             

Amid of sea of Pink at the Mastercard Center in Etobicoke the Taylor Fluid Systems – Atom B Aces launched their first tournament of season with a solid 2-1 win over the tournament home team, The Etobicoke Dolphins.

The coaches asked the girls to ensure they kept their feet moving and open up their positions and they delivered on this request.

Period one had some exciting hockey with both teams going back and forth with no real scoring chances.  The first goal was scored with approx. 1 min left of the first by Stephanie Tsaltas on a rebound shot originating from Lila Mortimer.

The second period saw lots of action as the Aces turned up the heat. A statement heard in the stands “It all starts with a good face off” was true for the second goal. Katie Helson deftly picked the puck away in the faceoff circle. It saw stops on the stick of Katelynn and Deirdre and was eventually put in the net by Abby Iacobellis assisted by Devan Taylor.

Ava Neumeister played an excellent game between the posts, with a truly shutout worthy performance. Unfortunately an inadvertent tip in our end put the pack just over Ava’s pads to allow the Dolphins to close the gap.

As the timer counted down the last few minutes of the third, key plays were made by Paige Taylor, Peyton Barclay and Bronwyn Hawkins to clinch the game. Congratulations girls on your first tournament win.
