Aces Win
Submitted By Terry Soper on Saturday, November 12, 2016
The Sirkel Foods/Kinsmen Club of Stratford Atom C Aces were victorious in their 1st game of the 2nd half this afternoon in Mt. Brydges vs the host Cougars.

After falling behind 2 goals 3 min into the first period the Aces were able to turn things around and get a pair of their own goals before the period was out. Stephanie Tsaltas started the scoring with a nice shot over the Cougars goalie with an assist to Kenliegh Soper. Victoria Campbell tied the game at 2 with a nice goal assisted by Tsaltas. With time winding down in the middle frame The Aces took their 1st lead of the game. Victoria Campbell banged in her 2nd goal of the game after a nice play in front of the net by Julia McCann. Grace Laverty gave the Aces a 2 goal lead early in the 3rd period. A rebound from a nice point shot by Kenleigh Soper found its way onto Laverty's stick who was planted out front just like coach JT has been teaching the girls.
Mt. Brydges was able to get within a goal with 9 min left in the game but the hard work from the Aces defense group of Sydney Taylor, Ella de Graff, Devon Taylor and Kenleigh Soper as well as some stellar goaltending by Ava "the cat" Neumeister the Aces were able to hold off any offensive attack the Cougars could throw at them. With time winding down in the game the Cougars star player was looking for her 4th goal of the game on an end to end rush but was denied at the Aces goal by the quick glove hand of Neumeister with the save of the game.
