Notes
The Stratford Accumetal Bantam A Aces finished their third game in as many days with a 6 to 3 win over the visiting St Thomas Panthers on Monday night.
As she has in each of the last 3 games, Mikayla Flanagan opened the scoring, this time with an unassisted wrap-around. St Thomas answered a minute later but Madi Smith put the home side again finishing off her breakaway by picking a top corner. Abby Gilchrist and and Stacey Shackleton earned the helpers. Rachel Nash buried a perfectly timed cross-crease pass from Brooklyn Rau with 3 seconds on the clock to stretch the Aces lead to 3 to 1 at the end of the first frame.
Both teams added a pair of goals in the second period. Ally Muir had a solo effort from behind the net and then earned an assist later in the period when she slipped a pass from about the same place across the crease to a wide open Joanna Van De Walle.
Kate Schneider scored the only goal in the third period assisted by McKenzie Dietrich and Flanagan.
Megan Arnold earned the win in the Stratford net.
Winning battles and good puck movement were keys to this win. A total of 10 different skaters earned at least a point in this penalty-free game.
