    Novice C Aces advance to gold medal game in Mitchell Minor Girls Hockey Tournament  
    The Perth Auto Dismantler Novice C Aces arrived in Mitchell this weekend and have taken the town by storm. The girls all stepped up their game and have played their hardest. They have shown all of us a new level to their puck handling, defensive skills, passing and most important of all, their focus to play as a team and have fun.
    The first game on Friday saw the Aces beat the North Halton Twisters, 10 to 1. The first period was scoreless but that soon ended 2 minutes into the second.  Ella Taylor scored her first goal of the year, Aveleen Flood got first hat trick and Katie Antonio got her first penalty. The overall scoring for this game was:   Player  Goals-Assists:  Aveleen Flood 4-1, Olivia Rau 2-0, Paige Campbell  1-0, Stephanie Tsaltas 1-1, Julia McCann 1-0, Ella Taylor 1-0.
    Game two on Friday had the Aces against the Walkerton Capitols. The Aces topped the Capitols with a 12 to 0 shutout, Marta Rintoul’s second of the year and Olivia Rau got her first hat trick this year with Aveleen Flood getting her second. Overall scoring for this game was: Player  Goals-Assists: Olivia Rau 3-0, Tessa Burdett 2-0, Aveleen Flood 3-1, Stephanie Tsaltas 2-2, Mckenzie Parsons 1-1, Paige Campbell  1-1, Hannah Mogk 0-1, Ella Taylor 0-2, Anne Nickel 0-1, Katie Antonio 0-1.
    Game three occurred on Saturday October  24th.  The Aces pitted their skills against the Lambeth Lancers. The Aces won this bout 6 to 1. Marta Rintoul showed her merit by stopping all but one goal with fantastic moves. Congratulations to Lila Mortimer who scored her first goal of the year and Aveleen Flood for her third hat trick. The overall scoring for this game was: Player Goal-Assists: Lila Mortimer 2-0, Aveleen Flood 3-0, Stephanie Tsaltas 1-0, Mckenzie Parsons 0-1, Cassie Richardson 0-1, Paige Campbell 0-1, Olivia Rau 0-1, Ella Taylor 0-1, Julia McCann 0-1.
    The gold medal game is set for Sunday, October 25th at 10am at the Mitchell Arena and where the Aces will face the North Halton Twist.
