The Perth Auto Dismantlers Atom A girls suited
up for game number 2 of a weekend of hockey in the Etobicoke Dolphins Pink The
Rink tournament. Coming off an early morning win, the girls were ready to take
on the Brampton Canadettes.
Down by one after the first, centreman Lauren Leis, on a pass from winger Eve Binns, found the top corner to both tie the game and earn herself game MVP. Still tied at one after two periods, it was evident these teams were well matched.
Heading into the final eight minutes of the game, the Canadettes took an aggressive stance, changing the pulse of the game and using the shift of balance to score two quick goals. Their fourth and final goal in the last two minutes offered up an outcome that just wasn’t going to swing the Aces way.
The girls are ready to relax and regroup, eager to take on regular season rivals, Saugeen Maitland Lightning tomorrow at the crack of dawn at the famed Mastercard Centre.
