The Stratford Cooper Standard Bantam B Aces
have qualified for Provincials after defeating the West Huron Wave 4 to 2 at the
Dufferin Arena on Wednesday night.
As she has on many occasions this year, Abby Debus opened the scoring with an unassisted goal late in the first period.
After killing a couple of penalties early in the second period the Aces stretched their lead to 3 to 0. Wingers Maddy McNab and Jenna Bouwman each had a goal and an assist while center Kate Schneider also double-dipped with a pair of assists.
West Huron rebounded with a pair of goals in the third period while the home side continued to have penalty trouble. Madi McKinley put an end to the comeback with a goal on the Aces on power play of the game banging home a rebound on a Joanna Van De Walle shot.
Goaltenders Sommer English and Shayla Brooks shared the win in the Aces net.
Well done girls!
