Peewee B’s Tie Lancers
For the second game in a row the All Equip Peewee B Aces came out with a tie.
This game on a cold Wednesday in Lambeth was more of a celebration at the prospect of a tie as the Aces were outplayed by the Lancers for a majority of the game.
The Lancers opened the scoring with 2:59 to play in the first. This was a one timer on a beautiful feed from behind Emma Ivey’s net. Ivey kept the Lancers off the board for the remainder of the game.
Playing with a squad that was short three players the Aces showed own zone tenacity in trying to clear the puck but stayed with it and finally in the third period were rewarded with a few chances in the Lancers end.
With a mere 1:52 remaining the Aces finally scored to tie things up at 1-1. The goal was scored by Mia Kuepfer with assists going to Adriana Danen and Anika Akroyd-Snider. Coach Jeff Bannon then tried for the win when with under 10 seconds to go the Lancers were called for hooking. Bannon pulled Ivey but the faceoff was scrambled and this ran the remaining time out.
