Bantam BB, 2011-12 (Stratford Aces Girls Hockey)

The Stratford Bantam BB, Cooper Standard, Aces used full team effort to reach the quarter finals at the 2012 OWHA provincial championship tournament held in Toronto and surrounding area this past weekend. In the Bantam BB division twenty four teams competed for gold as well as bragging rights to be named number one in Ontario.  In round robin action Stratford finished first in their pool, with a 2 – 0 – 1 record and a plus five goal for/goal against, giving the team a shot at a bye into the quarter finals.  Friday morning, Stratford faced off against North Simcoe Capitals winning the game 2 – 1.  Alexis Brooks and Brianna Glosnek were the goal scorers with Avery Casey earning a pair of assists and singles going to Megan Achilles and Hannah Bush.  Read More

Stratford Cooper Standard bantam BB Aces girls' hockey team tied top-ranked London 2-2 and second-ranked Woolwich 1-1 on the weekend. Alexis Brooks scored off a feed by Grace Fountain, and later set up linemate Brianna Glosnek with the Aces' second goal Sunday against London. Avery Casey was strong at both ends of the ice. Saturday against Woolwich, Brooks scored from Glosnek, and Alicia Hartung played a strong game defensively.
Hartung was the "Pink Hard Hat" recipient Saturday and Casey picked up the award on Sunday - good work ladies.

Stratford Cooper Standard bantam BB Aces dominated the first period, scoring three goals, and defeated the Windsor Wildcats 4-1 in Lower Lakes Female Hockey League action this weekend. Goal scorers were Alicia Young, Brianna Glosnek, Alexis Brooks and Grace Fountain with assists coming from Haley Doell, Hannah Bush and Glosnek.
