While the Aces finished tied at the top of their pool with 2 wins and a tie, they ended up in second because of the tiebreaker which had them playing a tough Toronto Leaside Wildcats.  In this game, the Aces came to play.  Coach Canal and his staff must have been happy to see the fire that the girls came out with in this game.  Keatyn Bell slammed home a rebound off an Olivia Willemsen shot to make it 1-0 after Liv got the initial shot off a fantastic rush.  All the Aces girls were on fire early, in particular Willemsen and Glitz who looked hungry and not to be denied.  Avery Canal decided to join the party by stealing the puck at the Aces blue line and going farside on the Leaside keeper to put the Aces up 2-0 in the first.  After an Aces penalty in the the second, Canal and Caley Michel forced an o-zone faceoff on the PK with some excellent hardwork.  However, shortly after a turnover behind the Aces net and Leaside sent the puck outfront for a goal to make it 2-1.   Canal, Bell and Kaitlyn Green immediately responded with a great shift to regain momentum.  Liv made another end to end rush but Glitz and Rossi both had rebound chances denied.  Coach Canal then sent out Liv Glitz and Canal who responded with immense pressure in the Wildcat zone and then Liv to Julia put the Aces ahead 3-1.  Adella Feller made a great save off a turnover to keep the score 3-1 at the end of the second.  The Wildcats came out strong in the third and broke in 3 on 1 and Feller made a great first save but couldn't grab the rebound and Toronto was back in it 3-2.  They almost tied it right after but Feller wasn't going to let that happen.  Glitz continued to be unstoppable as she went down the ice and fired the puck.  The Wildcat keeper made the save but it had too much heat on it and trickled in over the line for a 4-2 lead.  After an Aces penalty, Rossi and Willemsen with Verellen and Downham put in a great PK to keep the lead.  Not long after, Glitz feeling it in this game, went down, around the Toronto D and went 5 hole for the hatty and a 5-2 lead for the Aces.  The game ended 5-2 but this was no pushover Wildcat team and the defense of Kelly, Verellen, Downham, Stevens and Neumeister kept Toronto to the outside most of the game with hard work and support from the forwards.  Neumeister in particular showed some real strong skating in this game breaking up plays and getting the puck out.
