Notes
For the third and last game of pool play the Aces faced off against the Guelph Jr. Gryhons. Playing on olympic sized ice, the Aces had even more room to skate and took advantage of it and came out strong. Keatyn Bell drove the net early and was turned away but Kaitlyn Green was there to slip in the rebound for a 1-0 lead. Guelph had a strong rush late in the period threatening to tied on a PP but Lindy Downham broke up the rush standing up at the blueline with an active stick. Green sent in Jillian Rossi for two excellent chances but wasn't able to find the twine on either. Caley Michel also had a great backhand chance she put just over the Guelph net. Avery Kelly though made a nice play and Emry MacIntosh was on the doorstep to beat the Gryphons goalie to take a 2-0 lead. In the third Guelph had a dangerous 2 on 0 after a mix up and lucky for the aces the danger was averted when they went offside. Guelph brought the game back to within 1 but Liv Willemsen scored off a turnover to make it 3-1 Aces and that is how it ended.
