NotesStratford gets Big 3-0 Win in First Home Game of the Season
At home for game 3, the Aces built off the big win in Kitchener by coming out flying in the first period. Owen Sound didn't know what hit them as Avery Canal opened the scoring after some help from Jillian Rossi for Canal's first goal of the season. Katelyn Green, continued her hot pre-season popping in another for a 2-0 lead after the first. Keatyn Bell broke in alone on the goalie as well but the goalie stayed strong and she was denied. Several other Aces had chances as Owen Sound didn't have an answer for the Aces speed.
In the second, the play evened out a bit, but the Aces continued to get chances. Katelyn Green sprung Jillian Rossi in alone with a beautiful pass but Rossi couldn't find the twine. Late in the second Julia Glitz added one making it 3-0 with strong skating and an excellent finish. Adella Feller wasn't tested often through two periods but when she was, kept Owen Sound off the board.
The Aces continued the strong play and used their speed with breakaways by Rossi and Olivia Willemsen denied, first by the goalie and then by the iron as Willemson rang one off the post. Neither team would find the back of the net in the third and Adella, so close to the shutout, wasn't going to let one by her.
The Aces win 3-0 and Feller had her first shutout of the season.
