Taylor Fluid Oct 17 weekend round up
A determined effort by the Taylor Fluids Bantam 'C' squad was not enough to overcome an early 2 – 0 deficit against a strong Lucan team on Sunday October 17th.
Lucan jumped out to the lead just over two minutes into the first period with a concentrated effort around the Stratford net after a couple of initial saves by Peyton Boyles-Keating. Lucan doubled their lead scoring a second goal only forty-five seconds later when two Lucan forwards made a quick breakout past the Stratford defence.
Stratford closed the gap late in the first on their own quick break by Katelyn McMahon, who wasn't able to get the puck past the Lucan netminder, but Abby Iacobellis had no trouble putting in the rebound to bring the Stratford team back to within a goal.
Solid defense dominated the second period with both teams getting multiple chances around the nets only to be denied time and time again.
Lucan regained their two-goal lead early into the third period with another greasy goal as the Stratford defense couldn't clear the Lucan offense from the crease area. A fourth goal late in the third sealed the victory for the home team and handed Stratford their first loss in the last game of the pre-season.
The Taylor Fluids Bantam 'C's will be back in action on Friday October 22nd versus West Oxford in Ingersoll
