Notes
On Sunday afternoon the Stratford Senior B Lady Aces travelled to St Jacobs to face a young and fiery Woolwich squad. Stratford knew they had to bring their best as only 9 skaters were able to attend. The Aces were down early when Woolwich tallied on an odd man rush and struck again only 5 minutes later. Carley Wouters was able to answer back before the end of the first to keep the Aces in striking distance. The score remained locked at 2-1 well into the third period thanks to a spectacular showing by Aces goaltender Catherine Coter. As the officiants continued to turn a blind eye the game grew chippier while tension & urgency grew. Carley Wouters cashed again with 4 minutes left in the third to tie it up. After trading a few late penalties with the Wild, Bridgid Goris scored her first goal as a Lady Ace. It was a big one, she scored the game winner on the power play with less than one second left on the board. Stratford fought hard and certainly earned their 2 points this afternoon.
