The Nickel Gethke Smith Show Swings into High Gear as the Season Rolls Out
Abtron Electrical PeeWee Aces On a Roll

For a man who sells furniture, a gal who serves up fun and for a man who is, well, from the sticks, these talented mentors know how to twist a motley crew together into a net pounding razzling dazzling rushing scoring machine. The PeeWee C girls have successfully eyed up their opponents preseason and are now poised to destroy anything that lies in their path.  Out rushing, out passing, out shooting, out-scoring. Outstanding. The Abtron PeeWee’s are on a roll.

After a season starting draw and a devastating 4-1 loss to the South Huron Sabres Monday November 7, where Mackinlee Philipps provided the only Ace hope, the Aces opened up a home stand Saturday against the Lucan Irish. The Irish, clearly still licking their wounds from the Donnelly massacre all those moons ago, limped onto the ice and from the onset our Aces smelled blood. Mackinlee Philipps bayonetted the Irish and stuffed their organs into their helmets for 2 while Selina Gethke left the Irish defense for dead throwing two of her own in. Leighton Nickel, Katie Wheal and Chloe Pethick mercilessly added to the carnage and left the Irish to bleed frozen to the ice while the girl strode off to a 7-1 victory. Wall, L Nickel, Brander, McLaughlin and Lerch aided the Ace onslaught of the Irish by setting up the Ace guns.

The jubilant Abtron PeeWee’s hosted the Lambton Attack for a Sunday Matinee were the foe attempted to stall the Aces momentum. The girls weren’t having it. The Attack brought their best defender, their goalie who stood tall fending off relentless Ace guns. Wheal, Philips, Gethke, McLaughlin as well as Finnie and Nyenhuis from the blueline pounded the net over and over and over again until Selena Gethke with help from Charlee MacFarlane finally drew blood putting the girls up 1-0.  The Attack would provide counter pressure in the second and find their way past Hurley-Demers amping up the pressure tying things up 1-1.  The attack could not hold the pressure however as Vittoria Brander finally solved the attack goalie for a 2-1 win delighting the home crowd at the Rotary Arena Sunday.

The Abtron Aces will host their foes for the weekend at the Aces Festival Cup where the path to victory for the focused group of young women lies squarely in their own hands aided by the training of three mentors determined to see these girls always be better than they were yesterday.
