Two wins for Day 1 of Aces Tournament
Day 1 of the Stratford Aces tournament was exciting and we started out with a bang winning our first game of the day against Saugeen Shores 2-0. Our first goal of the game was scored by Hallie who won the face off and took a shot then got the rebound to tap the puck in. It was team work for the second goal when Chloe passed the puck to Selina who successfully passed the puck to Vitorria who buried the puck in the net. Our player of the game was definitely Makinlee who had so many great saves! All our players had a great first game and played so well.
The second game today was a nail biter. The team took an early lead with Mira scoring the first goal of the game against Lambton Attack. Mira kept pushing the puck past all her opponents and got a break away where she took a shot on net and scored. In the second period Lambton Attack started to win when they scored two goals but our girls were hungry for the win. Hallie tied things up in the third period when she took a back handed shot that scored our team's second goal with 5 minutes left in the game. With 1:30 seconds left in the game Hallie made a beautiful pass to Ivy who was in the a great spot to take a shot and earn her first goal of the season and the winning goal of game #2. Congratulations to Ivy for being player of the game too!
