The Atom C game play is undeniably improving
In their third exhibition game of the 2019/2020 playing against St Marys in an away game it was noticeable that all of the girls on our Aces Atom C team have been putting in the work and really taking the time to understand why the coaches conduct certain drills at practice. It was a tough loss 4:3 but exciting to see all the great plays that happened throughout the game from our players.

Coach Ryan St Pierre had this to say about the game “Their game play was undeniably improved on, positional play was very noticeable, and best of all the girls were working hard and having fun!”

And Coach Toby Phillips said “The girls all are progressing every time they step on the ice! People were getting in the correct spots and working really well together. I’m really happy with the camaraderie that’s happening as well!

Makinlee Phillips made her pre-season debut in net making some huge saves early on and as well throughout all three periods to give her team a huge energetic boost. She did a fantastic job in net and should be proud of her effort. The girls work ethic translated into getting on the board first, and leading in scoring for most of the game. Way to go Selina Gethke for rushing in from your defensive position sending in a big shot on net which resulted in a beautiful rebound that reached Hallie Turpin who was perfectly positioned to tap the puck in and score the first goal of the game. Congratulations to Chloe Pethick on her first goal of the season. High five to both Gianna Nickel and Ivy Hurley for getting the assists on Chloe's goal. Congratulations to Mira Broughton for scoring the team’s third goal and way to go to both Ivy Hurley and Jessica Lerch for getting the assists on Mira’s goal. Team work is what's it's all about!

There was a buzz at the pyramid center this past Sunday from both ends of the rink and the stands. It was an exciting game to be a part of and to watch! Keep up the great work team.
