The Peewee C Aces lost for the first time this season despite a strong team effort. In a game that saw both teams pressured in the own end for extended stretches and spirited back and forth play, Lambton managed to get one puck past the Aces for a 1-0 victory.
Peyton was fantastic in net for the Aces. She made a number of tough initial saves and was able to get the rebounds covered on a few goalmouth scrambles. Lambton applied far more pressure than the Aces have faced so far this season and while there was some tense moments. Peyton and the Aces defence were mostly able to contain the Lambton attack.
The Aces continued their aggressive forechecking game and were able to create a few turnovers in the Lambton zone. The Aces generated some good scoring chances but were unable to convert any of them.
The opening segment continues tomorrow at home against St. Marys.
