Notes
The second game this weekend was against the Heat. From past history everyone knew this was going to be a tough game; the girls were going to have to play as one cohesive team to earn the two points. Sloan Cameron was in net this game and was tested more than she had been in a while. Every now and again a team will lean on their goalie to keep them in a game, and this was one of those games. Cameron was the only reason the Aces walked away with a point this game; she was on fire, stopping all but one shot – which was when the Aces had two in the box for a 3 on 5. This was also one of the few games that the Aces were outshot 3:1. But, in and amongst the misplays, there were a couple nice plays and even better positioning that contributed to the Aces creating chances and contributed to the only goal of the game which was early in the second period. The play started in the defensive zone, Jarmuth gained possession of the puck and skated it in to the Heats' end where she took the puck behind the net and made a blind pass out through the crease where Ella Taylor who, as per usual, was perfectly positioned to receive the pass and slide the puck into the back of the net. The Aces finished the game in a 1-1 tie, walking away with one point this game; three for the weekend out a possible four.
