NotesThe Taylor Fluid Systems Aces battled Huron
Heat this afternoon, taking the win against the Heat for the first time this
season. Sloan Cameron was between the pipes this game and as per usual she had
an excellent game stopping all but one shot that came at her.
The girls in front of Cameron played with a
purpose, battling hard and controlled the play. Both of the Ace’s goals were
scored by Josephine Jarmuth, the first was a walk out of the corner with an on
the ice back hand that found its way into the net. Her second goal was also in
the first period, Jarmuth grabbed the puck from a scrum in front of the net
took the shot to score the insurance goal. Both goals were deemed unassisted.
The second period seen no goals for either team, just a couple penalties, one
of which seen the Aces start the third period short handed. The Heat recognized
the opportunity and they capitalized, bringing the game to within one. The Heat
were coming on strong in the third period, and due to a few long
forward shits, the Aces gave the Heat plenty of opportunities to tie
and/or win the game but managed to hold them off and squeak through with the
win to move into second place in the league.
