NotesThe Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee Girls
played two games in as many days. The first was against the South Huron Sabres
on Sunday and the second vs. Waterloo Ravens. The first game seen Neumeister
was between the pipes and again she showed everyone in the arena, especially
the Sabres, that she is a force to be reckoned with, recording yet another
shutout in pre-season play.
The rest of the girls in front
of Neumeister played a great game as well; defense holding their own, keeping
the Sabres clear from in from of the net and the forwards backchecking to help
out Neumeister’s cause. The game ended in a 2-0 victory with goals scored by
Flood and Jarmuth respectively. Floody with some nice hands in tight on the
Sabres goalie was a sight to see; a dangle here, a dangle there, and the puck
was in the back of the net before the goalie knew what was happening. Assists
going to Paige Campbell and Olivia Van Straaten. Jarmuth’s goal was a
hard-fought drive along the boards, a cut in at the dot and a hard shot that
beat the goalie short side. Assists by Kylie Fifield and Grace Laverty.
