NotesThe Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee BB girls
headed east this morning to take on the Cambridge Roadrunners in what was
another exciting game. Both teams were ready to play at drop of the puck. What
the game lacked in scoring was made up for in close calls, near misses and just
a good old physical hockey game.
Both the offense and the defense skated
hard and battled in the corners creating chances and opportunities. After
multiple tries, the Aces hard work finally paid off with the first goal of the
game half way through the third period. On a power play, Josephine Jarmuth took
a hard shot from the slot creating a rebound for Katie Helson who pick the puck
up in front of the net and with hands as quick as her feet, she buried the puck
to give the Aces the lead. The last half of the third tested the Aces penalty killing
and stamina. The Roadrunners were desperate for a goal. With one-minute left in
the game and the Aces on a penalty kill, the Roadrunners pulled their goalie to
have two extra skaters on the ice; their strategy worked, again, they tied the
game up with 51 seconds left. Ava Neumeister played an awesome game between the
pipes, keeping the Aces from their first loss of the season. Two games and two
ties against these Roadrunners……can hardly wait until the next one.
