Notes
The Peewee B/BB Taylor Fluid Systems took the ice for their first game of the season this afternoon, ready to take on the undefeated Cambridge Roadrunners BB team. Ava Neumeister started the game between the pipes. She played a strong ½ game ensuring the Roadrunners didn’t get anything by her, regardless of what Acme tricks they tried to pull. Scoring didn’t start until 3:16 left in the second when the Roadrunners took advantage of a lucky deflection on Sloan Cameron. It didn’t take long for Lauren Leis to unleash a beauty shot from the slot to tie the game, assisted by Anne Nickel who was strong off the faceoff to gain possession of the puck. Second period ended tied 1-1. The girls came on strong in the third period. With three minutes left in the game Josephine Jarmuth used her strength to rush the puck up the boards pushing her way through and around the Roadrunners gaining entry to the offensive zone and firing a hard shot from the face off circle that found the back of the net to take our first lead of the game. With a couple minutes left in the game the Roadrunners pulled their goalie to test ours. Cameron acrobatically denied the on slot of shots but as she was down and out the Roadrunners scored to tied the game with 70 seconds left. The TFS girls pushed hard to score one more but could not succeed; the game ended tied 2-2. Good start to a promising season girls!!
