TFS P-BB win their way to the LLFHL playoff finals
The Taylor Fluid Systems girls headed to Woodstock on Friday evening to battle the Wildcats in game two of the second round of the Lower Laker Female Hockey League playoff series. The Aces were looking to win this one to move on to the final round against the already decided Huron Heat. Sloan Cameron was back from being on the disabled list and was keen for the coaches to give her the nod; and that is what they did.

Cameron was solid for the Aces throughout the entire game not only earning the Aces the win, and as such moving onto the final round, but also earning herself another shutout. The only goal for the Aces was by Olivia Van Straaten mid way through the first period. An offensive attack by the Aces was broken up by the Wildcats and the puck was cleared into the neutral zone, it was at that point Van Straaten seen an opening and jumped all over it. Van Straaten swooped in and gained possession of the puck around center ice, she split the Wildcats defense and found herself head to head against the big Wildcats goalie. Van Straaten looked for an opening and at about the hashmarks she let a bullet of a shot go beating their goalie high glove side to score the only goal of the game and the eventual game winner. The first period ended 1-0. The second period was full of back and forth battles with the Aces’ defense showing their skills, keeping the puck to the outsides when in the defensive zone and moving the puck up the ice to create offensive attacks. The second period also seen Cameron make some sweet saves - a beauty of a glove save from point blank range and a stellar poke check on a breakaway to keep the Aces up one. The third was a nail biter. Half way through the period the Aces found themselves in some penalty problems. They were short handed for four minutes with just over a minute of that being a five on three. The TFS Aces didn’t panic, they remembered their training, and in doing so they were able to kill off the penalties. Which was the same when the Wildcats pulled their goalie for the extra attacker with under a minute left in the game; the TFS Aces girls stayed calm and didn’t stop battling until the final buzzer. The game ended 1-0. On to the LLFHL Playoff Finals!!
