TFS P-BB earn four of six points this weekend
The Taylor Fluid System Aces play three games in the four days earning four points out of a possible six. The Aces traveled to Blyth on Thursday to battle the leagues first place team, Huron Heat. As expected, this game was a grind for both teams; lots of battles and puck movement. Official scoring started in the second period for the good guys when Josephine Jarmuth ripped one past the head of the Heat’s goalie. Sloan Cameron was between the pipes this game stopping all but one shot to keeping the Aces in the game and ultimately earning the Aces a point.

The second game for the TFS Aces this weekend was the first of two against the familiar Cambridge Roadrunners. The Aces have battled the Roadrunners 3 times so far with a 1-0-2 recorded with 5GF 3GA. The girls had a little extra jump in their stride this game not giving the Roadrunners any room to gain speed to find their groove. The aces out shot them 18-8 winning 75% of the faceoffs and with Ava Neumeister in between the pipes, the Roadrunners didn’t have a chance. The TFS Aces started their scoring a couple minutes into the first; Lauren Leis was perfectly position in the house making no mistake in putting the puck in the back of the net when she received a beauty pass from Paige Campbell; second assists awarded to Olivia VanStraaten. Our second goal was a few minutes later, Katie Helson was high slot, received a pass from Aveleen Flood and roof the puck; second assist was awarded to Lauren Leis. The Aces didn’t stop there, in the second period Josephine Jarmuth popped a nice one through the five hole with assists going to Paige Campbell and Jessie Horan. To put the icing on the cake, Josephine Jarmuth wrapped the puck around the net sneaking the puck under the pad assisted by Ella Taylor.

The third and final game of the weekend was a battle. As the Roadrunners were shutout on Saturday and we were in their barn, they were out to prove themselves. The game started with the Roadrunners controlling the play for most of the first. Sloan Cameron making some excellent saves for her team giving them time to get their feet going. The first period ended 0-0 with the Roadrunners dominating the play. An unusual flood between the first and second period gave the TFS coaches a chance to have a word with the Aces reminding them of how good they can play. Whatever was said worked. The Aces put the first period behind them and battled hard for the remainder of the game. The Aces opened the scoring early in the second, Josephine Jarmuth took the puck from the defensive zone, into the offensive zone shooting the puck, beating the goalie high glove side. The Aces would keep the lead until 6 minutes left in the 3rd. Cameron made the save on the first shot from the point but the rebound found its way through the virtual wall to tie the game and that’s how it finished.
