P-BB TFS Aces go 2 f’r 2 this weekend
The Taylor Fluid Systems Aces played two tough games this weekend coming away with two hard fought wins. The TFS Aces hosted the Wildcats for their Saturday matinee. The girls were focused and ready to play. Neumeister got the call to start between the pipes and as usual she gave the Aces every chance to stay in the game.

The scoring action didn’t start until early into the second period when Ella Taylor was in the house causing havoc for the Cats; with her stick on the ice she received a pass from Paige Campbell and tested the reflexes of the cats goalie and proved they weren’t fast enough, Taylor scored her second goal in as many games to give the Aces to lead. The lead didn’t last long, less than a minute later the Cats tied the game at one a piece. The Aces didn’t get down on themselves, in fact they went right back on the attack. Three minutes after the first goal of the game and two minutes after the tying goal, Josephine Jarmuth received a bank pass from Grace Laverty and as we have all seen before, Jarmuth muscled her way down the boards to her favorite spot shooting the puck and hitting top corner to give the girls the lead and the eventual game winner. The rest of the game was a back and forth battle with Neumeister earning her keep to get the win for the teammates in front of her.

The Taylor Fluid Systems Aces headed East up No. 7 to battle the Guelph Gryphons in their barn on Sunday afternoon. After some volleyball warmup the Aces girls were ready to battle and battle, they did. This was one of the better games the girls have played, passing the puck with a purpose and pelting the Gryphons goalie with shot after shot. Sloan Cameron was on guard between the pipes this game; focused and ready to play. The scoring started early this game with Lauren Leis gaining possession of the puck in a scrum in front of the net to shoot the puck past the Gryphons goalie to take the lead just a minute and a half into the first. The second goal was by Leis again. Josie Walker passed the puck to the Grace Laverty at the point who shot the puck towards the net, the shot was pickup by Leis who made no mistake in putting the puck home to give the Aces a 2-0 lead to end the first. The second was full of nail-biting action both ways. Cameron holding down the fort in her end to keep the Aces two goal lead to end the second. The third was back and forth with the Gryphons scoring first. The Aces responded with Aveleen Flood gaining possession of the puck in the neutral zone by a hard pass given by Jessie Horan; Flood driving the puck down the boards and with some excellent control she cut into the net and with awesome patience she crossed the crease, out waited the Gryphons goalie to slide the puck in the open net to give the Aces their two goal lead back. A minute or so after that Kara Rolph gained possession of the puck in the offensive zone skating the puck through the house and shot at the goal sneaking the puck through the five-hole to give the Aces some insurance. The game ended 4-2 for the Aces. Excellent game from the Aces defence as they moved the puck well with very little turnover and the forwards for their constant and relentless forechecking Good luck in upcoming tournament.
