Aces beat Sabres and Ravens to end pre-season play
The Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee Girls played two games in as many days. The first was against the South Huron Sabres on Sunday and the second vs. Waterloo Ravens. The first game seen Neumeister was between the pipes and again she showed everyone in the arena, especially the Sabres, that she is a force to be reckoned with, recording yet another shutout in pre-season play.

The rest of the girls in front of Neumeister played a great game as well; defense holding their own, keeping the Sabres clear from in from of the net and the forwards backchecking to help out Neumeister’s cause. The game ended in a 2-0 victory with goals scored by Flood and Jarmuth respectively. Floody with some nice hands in tight on the Sabres goalie was a sight to see; a dangle here, a dangle there, and the puck was in the back of the net before the goalie knew what was happening. Assists going to Paige Campbell and Olivia Van Straaten. Jarmuth’s goal was a hard-fought drive along the boards, a cut in at the dot and a hard shot that beat the goalie short side. Assists by Kylie Fifield and Grace Laverty.

Game two seen the Taylor Fluid Systems girls playing the Waterloo Ravens in their barn. Cameron was the tender for this game and the same as her counterpart, Cameron has played an exceptional pre-season keeping her save percentage in the very high 90’s for sure. The scoring started quick with Jarmuth taking advantage of a cold goalie, snipes one past her just 43 seconds into the game. The Ravens got one back with 3:33 left in the first to end the first 1-1. The second period only seen one goal, but what a beauty! Olivia Van Straaten received a sweet pass to the point, with her head up she seen her target and shot the puck as hard as she could, over the goalie’s shoulder and into the back of the net-millimeters from being a bardownskis. Assists going to Floody and Fifield. During the second intermission the TFS coaches must have given a good speech as this was the better period of the three. Within a few minutes the girls had popped in another goal. This one scored by Ella Taylor who was in front of the net, stick on the ice receiving a pass from Stephanie Tsaltas to put one passed the goalie. Second assist was credited to Van Straaten. The last goal of the game was a nice behind the net pass from Floody to Jarmuth who walked out in front and made no mistake to put it passed the goalie. The game and pre-season ended on a good note. Now it’s down to the grind of regular season, but with the proper fluids this group of girls should do just fine!!
