Rison Shuts The Door Over The Lightning
Submitted By Sean Cameron on Monday, December 2, 2019
The Humphrey Fleet Service Atom A Aces rode great goaltending to a 2-0 victory over the Saugeen Maitland Lightning, November 30.

The Aces were finally rewarded with 1:41 to go in the first when Emma Van Nes' point shot deflected off a defender's stick and into the net for a 1-0 lead. Seconds later Chloe Rison came  up with a huge glove save on a two on one rush. Maren Marshall took one for the team when she blocked a dangerous point shot.
Midway through the second Rison came up huge with three quick saves to thwart the Lightning attackers. Seconds later she flashed the leather and just got enough of a shot to keep it out of the top corner. She had to make a huge pad save with just over 20 seconds left in the frame.
The Aces came out flying in the third period with the Abby Van Bakel, Jayda Dietz and Jayda Houben line had several glorious chances but couldn't beat the netminder. Unfortunately the Aces gave up a two on oh breakaway moments later. Rison came out to challenge the shooter but they shot high. She made four great saves in succession moments later as the Lightning pressed for the equalizer. The  Aces push back paid off quickly. Jule Cameron found Emersyn Miller and she stuffed it home on a wraparound to make it 2-0 with 2:30 remaining. The Aces return to action December 7 at 1 p.m. in Seaforth versus the Huron Heat. They host the Kitchener Lady Rangers December 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the RBC Arena.
