Humphrey Fleet Service Claws Their Way Into First Place
The Humphrey Fleet Service Aces Atom A team earned a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Kitchener Lady Rangers on November 10 to move into first in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League, West division.

After the Lady Rangers opened the scoring midway through the first, Emersyn Miller went to work with an unassisted tally ninety seconds later. She intercepted it at the Aces blue line and weaved through the defenders before sniping a shot short side to tie it up. The hard work of the offense finally paid off again three minutes into the second. Miller's shot was stopped and Eden Fraser jumped on the rebound but it was stopped. Fraser quickly banked it in off the goalie from below the goal line for a 2-1 lead. The Aces had numerous chances to add to their lead however they couldn't connect. In her debut on defense, Eve Binns made a key stop to force an offside on a dangerous two on one rush late in the third. She combined with Maren Marshall, Camryn Medhurst, Kylin Wilson, Emma Van Nes and Maeve Moss to limit the Lady Rangers offensive chances. When they did break through Chloe Rison was there to close the door and control the rebounds. Rison made several key saves to earn the win. The Aces open the Festival Cup when they face off November 15 at 9 a.m. versus the Kitchener Lady Rangers at the Dufferin.
