Humphrey Fleet Service Aces shutout Sabres
The Humphrey Fleet Service Atom A Aces earned a hard fought 1-0 shutout over the South Huron Sabres.

The Sabres got the first scoring opportunity seconds in but Malaika Kibedi came up with a big save. The Aces responded immediately after clearing our zone. Eve Binns did some hard work in the corner and Emersyn Miller walked out front and dragged it around the outstretched pad and in, 73 seconds into the first. The Aces had several great chances to add to their lead but the Sabres goalie rose to the challenge. The new line of Abby Van Bakel, Jayda Dietz and Jayda Houben was too much for the Sabres to handle on numerous occasions. The Ava Harmer, Krista McMahon and Linley Porter was tenacious on the fore-check and back checked hard to limit the Sabres chances. The Sabres pressed hard for the equalizer, especially in the third. Kibedi made a big glove save early in the frame and Jule Cameron came back hard to force an offside. With just under two minutes remaining, the Sabres pulled the goalie in favour of the extra attacker and had several chances to tie it. With a minute left, Kibedi came up with a huge pad save to prevent a sure goal. Emma Van Nes, Maeve Moss, Eden Fraser, Kylin Wilson, Maren Marshall and Camryn Medhurst turned in another great game on defense limiting the chances and getting involved in the offense.  The Aces are back in action November 10 when they host the Kitchener Lady Rangers as part of Aces Day at RBC Arena at 12:30 p.m.
