Amazing Weekend for the Novice Aces at the 13th Annual Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament
The Romeo Optometry Aces had a great weekend at the 13th Annual Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament.
The girls came out flying for every game; hungry for the puck and eager to defend their zone. Sidney Nelemens stood on her head for the Aces, earning herself a shutout and player of the game at Friday nights game. Falyn Rogers and Lucy McFarlane each earned ‘player of the game’ on Saturday for their outstanding efforts all over the ice. They each exemplified what it means to be a true hockey player. The Aces came out on top of the Novice skills competition with Jillian Rossi winning “fastest skater” and Emry MacIntosh earning top prize for her puck handling abilities. Grace Elliot and Sidney Nelemens were fierce competitors in the categories of top-goal scorer and top-goalie. Aces pride was felt in the Wilmot Recreation Complex all weekend long.
