Friday Night Hockey
The Mitchell Meteors rolled into Stratford on Friday night for the
much anticipated rematch against the Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee C Stratford
Aces.
The Aces had been building momentum with their strong style of play since their first loss suffered at the hands of the Meteors and they were eager to settle the score.
Starting between the pipes for the Aces was Dunny’s Source for Sports Atom C call up Petyon Boyles-Keating.
The Aces came out of the gate with intensity, putting the Meteors immediately on their heels. Smothering team defense, swarming puck pursuit and aggressive forechecking allowed the Aces to dominate the tempo of the game throughout the contest.
Avery Faulhafer netted the lone goal of the game, a result of nifty passing from team-mates Taylor Neeb and Kylie Fifield.
Total team defense limited the Meteors to two shots on net, Boyles-Keating steering them out of harm’s way with ease.
Final score: Aces 1-0.
