The Lady Aces; they came, they saw, they conquered. In game 1 of the first round of SOWHL playoffs, Stratford was just the better team. The number one seed, the Durham Lady Huskies, struck first only one minute into the game. Stratford’s Katie MacSorley answered back 7 minutes later on a seeing eye pass from Brittany McCabe to tie the game at one heading into the second. The game remained tied but racked up 18 penalty minutes in the close battle. MacSorley put the final nail in the coffin with 5 minutes left in regulation on a one-timer from Sarah McCorquodale. The Lady Aces held on for the 2-1 win, taking advantage of a stellar performance from call up goalie Brooke Schlotzhauer. Stratford faces off again on Saturday night at home at 8:15 in hopes of moving on to the SOWHL finals.
