First Game, First W for Peewee A!! The Sommers Generator System Peewee A team got their season started in St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon. After a slow start, the Aces were down 1-0 after one period of play. Five minutes into the second, a blistering shot from the point saw Olivia get her first of the season and her first as an Ace!! The Aces put up another goal in the second when Clara chased down the puck and put it in with a little help from Katie and Hailey. Six minutes into the third, Hailey added one of her own in a scramble in front of the net, with help from Clara. St. Thomas was not going to go down easy as they added one more to make it 3-2. Late in the third, Ashlyn added a fourth goal with help from Kiara to seal St. Thomas’s fate and give our girls their first win of the season!! Congrats to Mia and Carly on their first shared win in net! Our forwards Haddie, Sadie, Alexis, Lauren and Ella all had their fair share of shots and chances! Our defence core of Shauna, Ashley, Dayna, Olivia and Katie had to work extra hard without Hannah today and stood tall and tough keeping those Panthers at bay!! Great team effort, girls!!
