Notes The
week had only just begun for the atoms, as they travelled to the far reaches of
Middlesex County, for an exciting Saturday night game. The fans, resigned to
the fact that this is what their Saturday nights had come to, spent the night
dancing in the change-overs, while cheering our girls on against the Ilderton
Jets, in Komoka.
The
game started out with both teams playing end to end, until on an arrow straight
and strategic pass in from the corner from winger, Anne Nickel, that
found centreman Lauren
Leis, who sent the puck over to winger, Paige Campbell, who
found net, getting the high scoring game off to a fantastic start.
The
Jets, who were equally as jazzed by the arena music, answered the goal with one
of their own, followed by another goal, mid-second period, pulling them ahead,
2-1. Centreman, Emersyn
Miller, charged with the puck, alone and unassisted with only
1:30 left in the second, finding the back of the Jet’s net, evening up the
score.
The
rest of the game went much the same way, with three more goals coming
from Miller,
2 unassisted and one assisted by winger, Paige Campbell.
The
Aces finished the night with a fantastic win over the Jets, 5-2. But, their
weekend was far from over.
