NotesWith a
schedule designed to break the holiday sleep-in habit, the girls woke early
again on the 6th, to take on the Ravens again.
It looked the Ravens had come to Stratford, ready for a rematch
and vindication as the game began with a strong Raven offense. They were unable
to beat goaltender, Sloan
Cameron, during the first. Cameron denied all attempts by the
Ravens to capture an early lead.
The second began in much the same way, with both teams trading
ends, battling it out in front of the net, until Paige Campbell, on a
perfect pass from defense, Avery
Randall, flipped the puck up and over the goaltender’s shoulder
to put the Aces up, 1-0.
Continuing to push the play forward, the Ravens broke out of
their end with a consistent push towards the Aces net, where a rebounder found
its home inside the Aces net.
The game would ultimately stay tied, 1-1, giving the girls a win
and a tie in their first league play of 2019.
Next up, a mid-week game against the Woodstock Wildcats on
Wednesday in Woodstock.
