A Busy Weekend of Hockey For the Perth Auto Dismantlers Atom A Girls
They say that good things often come in sets of three, and like most trilogies out there, The Perth Auto Dismantlers Atom A girls had a first installment win, followed by a second act tie that set the tone and offered up a third and final game with the excitement we have come to expect while watching these girls play.

Game one saw the girls go up against neighbouring rivals, the Huron Heat. The action was packed, so sit back and relax while we break it all down.

The scoring got started with centreman, Lauren Leis, assisted by winger, Paige Campbell. Only a few minutes later, winger Eve Binns, assisted by Emersyn Miller, scored to make it 2-0 still in the first period. A third and final first period goal was scored by winger, Anne Nickel, again assisted by Emersyn Miller to end the period at 3-0 for the Aces.

The second period saw a lone goal, scored by Eve Binns and assisted by winger Ella Taylor to complete the second period at a score of 4-0.

The third and final period got off to a great and early start with a goal from winger, Lila Mortimer and a third assist this game, by Emersyn Miller, to end the game at 5-0.

Earning a well-deserved shut-out, was Grace Kipfer, who was once again, solid between the tiny red pipes.

Instalment two out of the three games played over a four-day period, saw the girls at home against the St Thomas Panthers. It was clear from the beginning, the teams were well matched as the spectators followed the play from end to end, not unlike a long tennis match.

Ending in a 1-1 tie, the lone goal by Emersyn Miller, unassisted, set the stage for the girl’s next and final match in this long weekend of play.

Sloan Cameron consistently held off the aggressive panthers holding them at that single goal.

The third and final instalment saw the girls going up against another team named after an angry cat, the Woodstock Wildcats. This game was intense, requiring incredible skill, focus and on point goal tending. We came with all three and in a nail-biting finish, not unlike the best of the very best trilogies, with only 1 minute left in the third period, Emersyn Miller landed a goal in the net, on an assist from winger, Ella Taylor.

Unfortunately, pulling their goalie would not see the Wildcats able to tie it up, and Grace Kipfer recorded her second shut-out of as many games, finding the puck before it ever had a chance of landing in the net.

Next up for the girls is a re-match with Saugeen Maitland Lightening on Sunday, October 28th on home ice.
