Notes
The Custom Grooming Novice C Aces travelled to Belmont on sunday morning to face off against the Belmont Blazers. The Aces came out strong. Emry MacIntosh skated hard and was aggressive on the puck. Mira Broughton scored midway through the first period to put the Aces on the board. Lilly Harriman stood strong in net, stoping Belmont on a breakaway chance. Reese Campbell was seen all over the ice digging hard for the puck. Reese created many scoring chances for the Aces as well as herself but they just weren’t able to get past a solid Belmont goalie.
A goal late in the second put Belmont on the score board, tying the game. Lucy McFarlane and Olivia Willemsen were strong on the puck trying hard to get the Aces back on the board. Outstanding defensive plays by Leighton Whetstone prevented Belmont from adding to the score and the game ended in a tie.
Hard skating and strong offensive and defensive plays earned Brooke Stairs the Ace of the game.
The Aces travel to Vaughan next weekend for the Brampton Cougars 23rd Annual Friendship Cup.
