Notes
The Aces went on the road to play in East Elgin against the B.A.D. Blazers HL where all the improvement and hardwork under the coaching staff came to fruition for their second win of the season 6-0 and a second shutout for Lilly Harrigan in yet another excellent game. After some excellent hustle from Leighton Whetstone on defense, good back pressure from Olivia Willemsen and Clara Longston almost scoring from the blue line, Clara and Mira Broughton combined in a scramble to open the scoring. Lilly continued to keep them in the lead and a strong shift from Jillian Rossi and Edie Murray kept pressure in the opposition end. The girls then really turned it on with a great pass from Avree Marshall to Reese Campbell for the second goal and a breakaway goal by Mira for the third. Lilly saved a dangerous breakaway chance and Mira added number two for the fourth. Olivia broke up what could have been a breakaway before Reese used her speed to add her second of the game on a breakaway. Milana Verellen who always plays hard until the whistle finished off the scoring for the Aces with 16 seconds left in the game. Edie Murray played a fantastic game on defense, particularly keeping the puck in the Blazers zone throughout the night which earned her the Aces Hard Hat for MVP of the game.
