Six Goals Gives Novice Aces a Three point Weekend
Jule Cameron Unleashes 4 Rockets in last 3 Games

The Rod Smith Novice B Aces rounded out a successful weekend with a road draw with the division leading Woolwich Wild and a commanding win over the Twin Centre Heracanes in Wellesley in a Sunday matinee.

The girls, with rested legs after a tough quarterfinal loss to their nemesis the South Huron Sabres in a Woodstock tournament the previous weekend and with the benefit of more power skills from legendary Stratford native Joey Hishon raced the traffic and the horse drawn carriages to the Woolwich township Arena in St. Jacobs to do battle with the division leading wild. The Wild, leading the division by three points, have chalked up the most goals in the division making this game a test for Ace goalie Reece Flanagan.  The Wild came out strong and opened scoring against the Aces, quickly finding themselves up 2-0. The girls, down but never out, fought their way back with hard working answers from Kiera Blain and Ace offensive player of the game Vittoria Brander who pounded home a rebound tying the game 2-2. Ace gunner Jule Cameron fired home what would be the start of a barrage from from this Ace this weekend putting the girls up 3-2 into the third.  Ace Defensive player of the game Claire Donnelly worked hard to keep the Wild at bay to protect the Ace lead but with a minute left the Wild pushed hard at the Ace net and got a final goal past Flanny evening out the game and ending it in a 3-3 stalemate.  When reached for post game comment coach Cameron remarked that the girls held in tough against the division leaders and was thankful that the Ace offence found their sticks to help net-minder Flanny who undoubtedly stood on her head to keep the girls in this game.

The Ace girls reloaded and trekked north of Stratford once again Sunday to head to the Wellesley arena Sunday Afternoon with the fresh confidence of knowing that they've held the division leaders at bay the previous day.  Little did the the road crowd know they were in for an Ace offensive treat today. Keeping the momentum up from the previous match the Ace offense went straight to work. Newly minted center Niahm Appel hammered home the game opener early in the first, followed by a hard fought rebound banger from Appel line mate and Ace O of the game Charlee MacFarlane. Jule Cameron's guns kept firing as she netted her third and fourth in the last 3 games, her second goal a beautifully rifled breakaway shot from an amazing lead pass off the boards from line mate Linley Porter. Pippa Nyenhuis, now more comfortable on the blue line, earned Ace D of the game for her solid positional play and picture perfect Heracane offensive take-downs, borrowing from her defensive mate's L 'boom-boom' Nickel's hip checking to finish some of her work and to put some physical fear into her opposition.

The Aces soundly defeated the Heracanes 4-0 and in the words of coach Sean Cameron, 'We are ready to take on the London Blues this weekend'
