Division Title still Within Reach After Aces Defeat League Leading Blazers
Aces Now Just Three points Back of Blazers With Two Games Left

The Stratford Kinsmen Novice C Aces Are the hottest team in Division three riding a four game win streak, two points back of the BAD Blazers and are headed into a close race to the Division title.

The girls were firing on all cylinders late Saturday morning and took their game to the Blazers only allowing a handful of shots on goalie Adele Helson.  Katie Wheal opened the scoring early in the first, putting the Blazers on their heels.  The goal was assisted by Cadence McKee and Gianna Nickel.  After a scoreless second, and with mounting pressure, the Blazers tested Helson as she took away an open net with a quick right pad from a streaking Blazer winger.  Into the third Jule Cameron, reminiscent of her behind the net bank shot from the Aces previous game put away another by throwing the puck at the net from the side, banking it off the Blazer goaltender and in. The Aces were up 2-0 and were sure to cruise to victory.  With the characteristically classic late game resilience of these teams the Blazers pushed their game back at the Aces.  In the back half of the third the Blazers found the back of the net bringing the game within 1. The pressure continued as the Blazers were determined to end the race and cement the League title there and then.  With the excessive pressure though, holes were sure to be made as a late game Ace breakout allowed Katie Wheal and Pippa Nyenhuis to set up Charlee MacFarlane for her 2nd goal as a Ace providing the insurance marker to give the Aces a 3-1 victory.

The Blazers played to a close 2-2 draw on the road in Parkhill Sunday Morning putting them back to 3 points ahead of Stratford.  In the last two games of the season the Aces need to be victorious in a home and home series with the Inferno. If the Aces pull it out, the league title could be taken from a losing or tying Blazer squad this Sunday.
