Inspired Intensity Lift Aces in Sabres Grudge Match
Flanagan records team's first shutout helped by a stalwart blue line.
The Aces traveled to South Huron Wednesday night determined to make up for a tight loss against the Sabres on the weekend. In a pregame interview coach Hruden commented on the team's strategic focus and new found discipline in the dressing room which was clearly evident come game time. From the first period on-wards The Aces blue line led by Adele Helson and Maeve Moss held the puck deep in Sabres territory creating chances for Aces forwards. After a scoreless first and with building Ace pressure, Katie Wheal and Charlee Macfarlane set up a breaking and determined Jule Cameron who banged at the net to score her 4th of the season. Mid-way through the third Katie Wheal added an insurance goal from her office in front on the net banging home a rebound. The Ace defense held off some late game Sabre pressure to secure Flanagan's shutout and their third win of the season.
The Novice C's are part of the hosts of the annual Aces tournament this weekend throughout Stratford and area where they will continue to build on their recent success.
